The Big Five - our must knows for October 2023:
World Meat Congress held on 11 - 13 October, was the first in five years since COVID, held in Maastricht, the Netherlands. The theme of this year’s Congress was Meeting Society and Consumer. GMA’s Laura Ryan was in attendance, sharing GMA focus areas and how to support industry. (page 3)
Global opportunities for automation and new technologies? Following DEFRA’s £270 million funding to Agri-Tech in the UK, building on commitments at the Farm to Fork Summit at Downing Street earlier this year, we look at global opportunities for automation and technology which could mean investment at on-farm level. Ireland’s Demonstrative Farming was seen first-hand in a recent visit to Ireland, inspiring GMA to look at what Irish farmers are doing to make their agriculture system one of the most sustainable in the world. (page 5)
