Open GMA Insight Call: Why and how to engage with the UNFSS

GMA have been working on a project for Meat & Livestock Australia to understand what activity is being undertaken by industry globally, in preparation and to engage with the United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS). As part of this work, we’ve been chatting to Eric Mittenthal, Vice President of Sustainability at the North American Meat Institute (NAMI) who has been working on the UNFSS since November last year.

We’ve been encouraged by other conversations we’ve had with organisations across the board that are doing some great work to engage with the UNFSS but we thought there was an opportunity to center a GMA Insight Call around this topic to equip the wider sector with as much information as possible. We’ve asked Eric to share some thoughts, for both those that are struggling to see where to engage but equally to bring those who are already running activity closer together.

To that end, we’re opening up the next GMA Insight Call - to be held on Thursday 15th 8.30pm UTC (9.30pm BST/Friday 16th, 6.30am AEST) to anyone that wants to discuss the following:

  • UNFSS purpose and outcomes

  • Learnings from the US Engagement (with the USDA and directly into the Summit)

  • How your organisation can be involved and report back to stakeholders

If you’d like to participate, please register here and we’ll send you the Zoom link directly.
