COLLABORATIONS:

nLCA
We’re sharing a new opportunity this month for partners to explore co-funding a transformative research project focused on Nutritional Life Cycle Assessment (nLCA). This initiative, proposed by Beef + Lamb New Zealand, seeks to integrate nutritional evaluations with environmental impact assessments of animal-sourced foods, fostering sustainable and health-optimised food systems. This opportunity arose from discussions during the first GMA Download on nutrition research, highlighting a call for collaboration.

WIAW
World Iron Awareness Week (WIAW) takes place on October 14 – 20 and we encourage everyone within the meat sector to get behind it and leverage the provided resources to educate and empower. We’ve shared the resources folder for you to utilise to get behind this World Iron Awareness Week including the below:

Social assets toolkit (supplied by BLNZ); an Engagement Tracker (please contact GMA to have info included); Inspiration from past & upcoming activations and; the 2023 Supporters Summary – find it all here and see more info at ironweek.co.nz

EVENTS & INTRODUCTIONS:
Lastly, you can lock in sector events and key global moments. We also share an opinion piece with Keith Belk, Director at the Center for Meat Safety & Quality (CMSQ), Colorado State University (CSU) in Denver, who will be hosting the “International Summit: The Societal Role of Meat and Livestock” workshop next month. Keith talks to GMA about his long experience and valuable roles within the sector and the plans for the October event.

GMA will be on the ground in Denver for the above event on October 30 - 31, so please do reach out to connect if you are also attending – we look forward to seeing many of you there. As always, if you have any other feedback or questions on any of the content, please also feel free to connect with us on eleanorvlimited@outlook.com
